The DER below is from the expedition to Cuba that began on January 18, 2017.

Our days and nights here in Havana have flown by! I am reticent to leave this vibrant and beautiful city so unlike any other on earth. Stepping back into the 1950s has truly been a magical photographic journey. I hope that I can share that nostalgic feeling with you, dear reader, through the images I have shared.

Last night we danced atop the Hotel Lincoln to the distinctly Cuban sounds of Septeto Nacional. Early this morning I was up and photographing the vintage 1950s-era American taxi cabs in and around the Hotel Nacional. Off we zoomed to the Cementerio Cristóbal Colón, a photogenic burial site of Havana’s most important citizens. Crossing the island of Cuba we came to Cienfuegos to be greeted by a lovely concert given by Lilian Perez and her choir Cantores de Cienfuegos. Boarding Panorama II our excitement level is high as we anticipate all that this, the largest island in the Caribbean, has to offer. Stay tuned for more great adventures as tomorrow we journey to the Bay of Pigs!
