In the early morning hours we disembarked on South Plaza Island, greeted by dry land beneath our feet. As we stepped onto the island, Galapagos sea lions and land iguanas welcomed us and the island's breathtaking landscape unfolded before our eyes. It was magical.
Later in the day we set out for Santa Fe Island, our next destination. There we had the opportunity to explore a stunning turquoise bay by kayak and snorkeling. Swimming alongside sea lions, green sea turtles, and eagle rays, we found ourselves immersed in the wonders of the underwater world.
Continuing our adventure, we went on a hike to a picturesque beach where we were greeted by a juvenile Galapagos hawk, completing a truly memorable first day aboard National Geographic Islander II.
