Eyes wide with excitement, we stood on the deck of the renowned Sea Cloud as we set sail for the azure waters near Corsica and Sardinia. Sea Cloud is a legendary four-masted barque, celebrated for its grandeur and rich history, and once owned by the heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post.
The sun cast a golden glow and the salty breeze carried the invigorating scent of the Mediterranean. For the first time, we watched the seasoned sailors rig the ship, a mesmerizing dance of expertise and strength as Captain Svendsen explained in detailed the dance’s steps. Ropes were skillfully threaded through pulleys, and sails unfurled with practiced precision.
