We woke up and admired the blue color of the Greek waters that were all around us. After an enjoyable breakfast on Sea Cloud, we gathered on the Lido deck for an interesting discussion on contemporary Greece with our local cultural experts that helped us understand what Greece is like today. What followed was a unique experience, we swam off Sea Cloud in the crystal clear waters of the Ionian Sea. A dream come true.
Refreshed and content, we had a buffet lunch before we disembarked for our visit to Olympia. And there we were, thirty minutes later, in the birthplace of the Olympic Games. With our cultural experts we walked through the sanctuary of Zeus, learning how the ancient Greeks connected with the games, felt the Olympian serenity and admired some of the highlights of Ancient Greek art and statues in the museum.
But the day was not over yet, we continued on to Sea Cloud with a delicious Greek buffet dinner accompanied by the soft piano's music from Peter Czifra, leaving the port for our next destination, the famous island of Ithaca!
