Bartolome & Santiago Islands
It is only in recent time that the marine fauna has become another important thing in this world, the world of the discovery and the exploration in the Galápagos.
The two islands that we were visiting today captured the attention of every one that went to do water activities. Both places, the shallow and deep water snorkeling, were superb!
Due to the influence of major current systems, these two islands, Bartolome and Santiago, are provided with ideal conditions for observing a large number of tropical fish, penguins, sea lions, sharks and moray eels. The variety of colors, markings and patterning that the under water kingdom has is one of the most striking features to human eyes.
The nature walks on both islands were synonymous of peace and relaxation; not just a simple walk with views and landscapes. Each one of them featured beautiful beaches, which, of course, we had time to spend on. During this time of the year, we commonly encounter sea lions, lots of marine iguanas, shore birds and many different species of endemic plants. This trip is undoubtedly a memory that will remain in our minds for a long time…
