The Galapagos Archipelago holds so many wonderful experiences, and visiting the western islands is especially special. Fernandina, the youngest island, gave us the opportunity to understand how the islands were formed and how the creation of this ecosystem is truly magical. We saw many marine iguana eggs hatching, causing them to be on guard of predators, such as snakes, hawks, and herons who were waiting to prey on them.
Snorkeling was fantastic and we encountered marine turtles and marine iguanas posing for pictures underwater.
Punta Vicente Roca, a fantastic rock formation and a geologist’s dream, was explored in our Zodiacs. We crossed the equator accompanied by a fantastic sunset. It was another incredible day in the Galapagos.
