On this day of exploration in the Gulf of California, guests and staff on the National Geographic Sea Bird visited two wonderful locations: the long and beautiful arroyo at Ensenada Grande (Espiritu Santo Island), and Los Islotes (on the northernmost tip of that island). Starting on the protected western side of Espiritu Santo, facing La Paz Bay, the long arroyo ends in the higher, steep eastern side with a wonderful view of the cliffs and sea. Los Islotes, on the other hand, forms an eroded fragment that has no land predators, ideal for California sea lions and their pups.
