The DER below is from the expedition to Cuba that began on January 4, 2017.

Cayo Largo, the Big Key, is a long sand island off the south coast of Cuba and a popular beach resort area for Cubans and visitors alike.  We went ashore this morning to enjoy the huge beach of fine white sand and a snorkeling expedition, by boat, to the outer reef.  The catamaran we had scheduled was late, so we went to Plan B, which was to relax on the beach, drink some fine local concoctions and have a delicious lunch while waiting.  All of this was so pleasant that it completely satisfied some of us, but those who waited for the snorkeling were treated to a beautiful reef and sightings of rays, turtles and barracuda.
