The DER below is from the expedition to Cuba that began on January 4, 2017.

Today’s Daily Expedition Report is a special edition for all you bird lovers out there.  While some of us enjoyed Cuba’s wetter delights (swimming, snorkeling and diving at Punta Perdiz), the dedicated birders among us were out early on an excursion to a small forest reserve adjacent to Zapata National Park.  Featured in today’s photographs are five of the forty species we saw, all of them endemic to the island of Cuba – that is, they can be found nowhere else in the world!  It was a fantastic day.
