Today we had a busy day exploring one of the main tributaries of the Amazon River, the Ucayali River. The name comes from the native Cucama language and means ‘black water.’
This river it is very important because it provides fish, and during low water season they can also do farming activities here. We went out twice to explore and observe many species of birds and we also had a chance for a night skiff ride to look for Caimans, snakes and some other nocturnal animals as well.
