We’re finally coming to the end of our amazing journey, and it’s time to rest and reflect on the experiences of the past several days. As we enter into the Drake Passage it gives us time to breathe, rest, and download both our photos and our experiences. For some of us, some extra time in the cabin to rest and let ourselves be subdued by the motion of the sea.

Perhaps we’re also looking at the packing process, how to fit in our boots and jackets! There have also been some great wildlife moments today, several species of birds being viewed from the bridge, as well as a pod of six fin whales that led us directly from Conor’s informative whale talk into lunch, timing perfectly as if they were on the payroll!
With lots of interesting talks the day passed quickly, and just before recap, we had an impactful presentation from our Global Perspectives Guest Speaker Will Steger which dramatically visualized the effect of climate change on our polar icecaps. And yet to think, we still have another whole day to experience and soak up the National Geographic Explorer.
