As the end of our trip approaches, we stopped at fantastic Bartolome Island. Known in the Galapagos for its famous moonscape, this small island has amazing volcanic features to admire. Early walks and a Zodiac ride before breakfast gave us the chance to enjoy the day before it grew too warm. Afterwards, water activities were great fun. We observed reef sharks, rays, penguins, and many fish.
In the afternoon, around the other side of Santiago Island, we visited the small islet of Sombrero Chino. The islet is named for its shape, which resembles a Chinese hat. We enjoyed great snorkeling and a Zodiac tour as well. The islet is home for a small population of Galapagos penguins, which were present for us today. It was a real treat!
