Today National Geographic Islander arrived in Santiago Island. Our activities of the day started before breakfast with a nice photo walk along Espumilla Beach. We were able to photograph sea turtle tracks, ghost crabs, mockingbirds, and the Galapagos hawk very closely.
After breakfast we headed to Buccaneer’s Cove and went snorkeling. The most impressive thing in the area were two giant manta rays feeding on plankton right next some of the guests. After that, the ship moved to Puerto Egas where an afternoon hike was the perfect moment to spot low tide pools full of life. Here female sea lions were ready to deliver, and baby pups were playing all around. After our activities of the day, Daniel, our hotel manager served a BBQ dinner on the sky deck! A perfect way to finish our day.
