In 1835 the HMS Beagle navigated around the Galapagos Islands and Charles Darwin spent most of his time on the Island of Santiago, the island we visited today. In the morning we explored Sombrero Chino, which is an old cinder cone in the shape of a Chinese hat. Here we were offered different water activities, such as Zodiac rides and snorkeling. Later in the day we landed on Sullivan Bay, where a volcanic eruption in the 1890's brought an enormous amount of lava and we walked on that very same flow today.
