Early this morning, we anchored in Academy Bay in the southern realm of Santa Cruz Island. This is the most populated island in the archipelago, and it is home to the main headquarters of the Galapagos National Park and the Charles Darwin Research Center.
Our day on Santa Cruz Island was full of different options. We had a chance to walk through Fausto Llerena Breeding Center to observe giant tortoises. After the walk, we boarded local buses. Some of our guests went to Thomas de Berlanga School, and others went to a hydroponic farm or a local sugarcane farm.
We had lunch on another farm right on the boundary of the National Park. We had the chance to walk amongst several Galapagos giant tortoises in the wild.
