Today we visited Santa Cruz Island, and we have been exploring all day in search of giant tortoises. Early morning we visited the Galapagos Breeding Center and learned about the conservation efforts of the Galapagos National Park Authority and the Charles Darwin Research Station for the conservation for this species. Afterwards, we visited the farms where we learned about the sugarcane process, how to make moonshine, and lots of details about coffee production and plantation. We had the best lunch surrounded by giant tortoises; they were literally everywhere.
