Santa Cruz Island it is the day everyone has been waiting for because we were so excited to finally seen the famous Galapagos giant tortoises.
What really amazed everyone it is the fact that in this Archipelago we just do not have one kind, but several kinds of them living in different locations in this chain of islands.
For Galapagos that is just another example of adaptive radiation of the many examples we have in Galapagos. It means one ancestor has arrived in Galapagos and here they have spread to different islands to evolve in different ways and forms.
