Our morning was spent exploring up a ravine, out onto a plateau. All three species of boobies reside here on Punta Pitt. Just offshore, Pitt Rock is filled with marine species, each finding space on the limited real estate. Boobies, frigatebirds, shearwaters, storm petrels – all here, all calling, all looking for bush, branch, crack, fissure, space to rear their young.
The afternoon offered a visit to Cerro Dragon, a final opportunity to sit and absorb all that is Galapagos. White sand, sea lions, ocean, sky with no contrails, clean air, simplicity.
