It was our first full day aboard National Geographic Venture here in Baja California. We arrived this morning to Isla San José. Our first adventure was snorkeling in the waters of the Sea of Cortez. We saw an abundance of life swimming below the surface.
In the afternoon, we arrived at Punta Colorada and took our first hike into the desert. We walked up into an arroyo and experienced the flora and fauna. Along the sandstone coast, we investigated the tide pools and discovered some fossils exposed in the stone.
It was the perfect way to start our expedition here along the beautiful Gulf of California.
