A beautiful sunrise and sunset framed our day in Magdalena Bay. Between each we traveled by coach to the north end of the Mag Bay complex where we boarded local pangas at the port town of Lopez Mateos.
Our first outing was to “La Boca” where the bay meets the ocean; among the churning pea-green waters, we espied a cow and calf pair of gray whales and several single whales. A delicious lunch at a local restaurant fueled us for one more outing into the quiet waters of the inner lagoon, where we saw several more cow and calf pairs. Sunset over Isla Magdalena led us into our cocktail hour and recap.
