Today we visited North Seymour, a small 1.7 square km uplifted landmass considered the island of the birds. We went for a remarkable hike where we found different species of marine birds, such as frigates and blue-footed boobies nesting in the area. Also, the outing allowed us to find the yellowish reptiles Conolophus subcristatus, Galapagos land iguanas, all over the place.
In the afternoon we went to the beach on Rabida where we had our first snorkeling opportunity of the expedition. All our groups enjoyed the presence of playful Galapagos sea lions, sea turtles, and a large variety of colorful fish.
After snorkeling we went on a walk along the beach where we encountered a group of American flamingos nesting by a coastal brackish water lagoon. At the same time, others went for a remarkable kayaking along the coast. It was a special experience in paradise, with many memories our guests will take home!
