Our second full day in the Upper Amazon of Peru was a spectacular day from sunrise to sunset. It was filled with glowing skies, wildlife galore, and lush forest as we explored by skiff and by foot. In between, we were treated to the “normal” delicious Delfin cuisine and a fruit presentation with a tasting. We also enjoyed an introduction to the Pacaya-Samiria Reserve.
Our destination for the morning was the black water river of Nauta Caño. This stream was filled with an incredible amount of wildlife, including thousands of egrets lining the shore and a great amount of monkeys and birds. In the afternoon, we walked on the trails in the terra firme forest and spotted quite a few frogs, snakes, and even a tarantula.
And to cap it all off, we enjoyed a fiery sunset with distant lightning and another delicious meal.
