Today, National Geographic Islander II navigated to the westernmost islands in the archipelago. While cruising around the northern part of Isabela Island in the early morning, we spotted dolphins in the distance. After breakfast, we conducted an equator crossing ceremony for guests as we sailed south to the southern flank of Ecuador Volcano, bound for the first visitor site of the day.
In the afternoon, we embarked on a hike across the rugged lava terrain of Punta Espinoza on the northeastern side of Fernandina Island. We were greeted by large groups of marine iguanas and sea lions. What an incredible landscape and a thrilling adventure to conclude a fantastic day.
