We had a spectacular day in these remote realms! Early in the morning, at around six,  a huge pod of Common Dolphins was seen at a close distance from the ship. Without hesitation I woke up everybody for I did not want our guests this week to miss this unusual opportunity. Accompanying the dolphins we had a magical golden light that enhanced this extraordinary sighting. This dolphin species is characterized for being very cheerful leaping repeatedly out of the water while travelling. The acrobatics of these marine mammals were the delight of their observers.

After this outstanding beginning we crossed the Equatorial line. Today this event was great! The happiness and friendship of our guests this week was contagious. We had aboard a full group of gusts from the Class of 1969 of the prestigious West Point Academy.

The rest of the morning was fantastic as well! The magnificence of Ecuador volcano scenery combined with Galápagos wildlife was breathtaking. We took a Zodiac ride along the coastline of the volcano.  We saw a lot, Pacific green sea turtles, Galápagos penguins, Flightless cormorants, Noddy terns, Blue footed Bobbies, Nazca boobies, Galapagos Fur sea lions, Galápagos sea lions, Marine Iguanas; we saw way more than we expected. Later on, we went snorkeling. We had a blast, we spotted so many turtles that at some point we stop counting.

Our afternoon outing was on the youngest island of the Galápagos, Fernandina Island. It is the most well preserved island of the Archipelago; no wonder why is the favorite island of most naturalists! Punta Espinoza is the only place on the island where we can disembark. We enjoyed so much walking through the black lava fields as much as we love looking at the wildlife we encountered. Our day of exploration ended with another fantastic event, a strong rainbow that was golden finale for this day in this paradise, the Galapagos Islands
