Early in the morning we wake up with the ship still moving along the coast of the largest island of the Galapagos, Isabella. In the big, blue ocean we spot a large pod of common dolphins and we follow and watch and take pictures of them. They are just amazing!

After that we celebrate the crossing of the equator then arrive at Punta Vicente Roca to start the activities of the morning.

A Zodiac ride along the coast is just ideal to enjoy the amazing geology and wildlife. Many turtles are found in the bay, mostly resting. The bird activity was at its highest for the abundance of fish. Many pelicans and boobies were diving just off the shore. Sea lions and fur seals also live and fish around this area, too. Flightless birds like the unique Galapagos penguin and flightless cormorants find this area ideal for a living.

After this we navigated to our next destination, the island of Fernandina. Punta Espinoza is a phenomenal location where many species of animals can be seen. As we began our exploration hundreds of marine iguanas were basking in the sun and others in the water gathered food from the sea. Flightless cormarants nested and crabs by the hundreds painted the black basaltic rocks with color. Many turtles gathered to feed in the bay and sea lions, both in the water and on shore, enjoyed one of their favorite locations.

Vegetation here is poor due to the young age of the island, but some have found their way to survive like the unique lava cactus a true pioneer on oceanic islands.

Surrounded by active volcanoes we end the day with a phenomenal sunset.
