The DER below is from the expedition to Cuba that began on December 21, 2016.

Today was dedicated to arts, education, and revolution. One group drove the length of Habana to the west, into the district known as Miramar. We had come specifically to spend the morning at two very unusual places: The Museo Organico de Romarillo, and Fusterlandia. Two artists with two distinct ways of seeing the world, making it a better place for the Cuban people.

The other half of our group had chosen to visit “Nostalgicar”—the marvelous car renovation workshop, and the famous cigar factory in down town Havana, the “Real Fabrica de Tabacos Partagas”. Both these sites can be seen in yesterday’s Daily Expedition Report for those who might have missed it!

Lunch was served at the original “Sloppy Joes” (sorry Key West), and the afternoon at the Revolutionary Museum and University of Habana. Everyone agrees, it will take more than ten days to wrap our minds around what we have simply been calling “Cuba.”
