The DER below is from the expedition to Cuba that began on December 28, 2016.

Our visit to this warm and lovely island began with an exploration of the old town of Havana, founded in 1592 and a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1982.  Throughout the morning we wandered through the streets and plazas in the company of our Cuban guides, learning about the long history of the city and stopping to visit many of the beautifully restored old palaces and churches.  Best of all were the Cuban people we encountered, musicians, shop owners, housewives and tradesmen, they all met us with smiles and a very genuine welcome to their country.
