For our final day of expedition, we visited Genovesa Island. This is certainly one of the most astonishing islands here at Galapagos.
Today was a big one with plenty of activity, and we began it with a pre-breakfast outing on kayaks along the cove. We went for a hike to Darwin Bay, where the trail let out to a white beach absolutely riddled with red-footed boobies, great frigatebirds, Nazca boobies, and swallowed-tailed gulls.
While snorkeling, we saw a large number of tropical reef fish, including the Moorish idol, a beautiful fish set in large, alternating stripes of black and yellow.
After lunch, we did a second hike to the Prince Philip Steps, where we spotted five Galapagos short-ear owls as well as storm petrels, Nazca boobies, and more great frigatebirds, plus an amazing sunset as our expedition closed and we headed back home.
