Cabo Velas & Tamarindo
After a memorable cultural experience in Nicaragua, the Sea Voyager returned to Costarican waters. After clearing customs and immigration we sailed south toward Cabo Velas.
Guanacaste is a province with many contrasts. There are pristine tropical dry forests and mangroves combined with white sand beach areas. We discovered a little jewel in this area: Bahia Zapotal. All of our guests took time to snorkel, swim, and relax on the beach; some went for a walk through the forest. The stars of this walk were an entire family of mantled howler monkeys that were sighted at the very beginning of the trail.
Upon return to the ship, we dug into a great lunch while the ship repositioned to Tamarindo Beach area. This afternoon was full of different activities. The main one was practicing surfing and body boarding. Tamarindo is known for its world class waves and great shopping in town. All of our families on board experienced unique personal moments that created a stronger connection among their relatives and new friendships with their shipmates.
Our day finished with a presentation on biodiversity by naturalist Maguil Cespedes. We all made great memories of our last day in Guanacaste province, the home of pure nature, volcanoes and folklore in Costa Rica.
