Today, we landed on another desert island, Isla Carmen. We saw many different tide pool creatures and plants we had not seen on previous islands. One of the most interesting plants was the Old Man Cactus (Lophocreus schottii), which is adapted to flatter areas. As with all cactus, it swells up as it absorbs water after a rain.
