Ahhhhh, what a life we have on the Sea Lion! Here we are anchored in a half-moon-shaped cove on Isla San Francisco. Today's options were kayaking, tidepooling with our naturalists who are experts on invertebrates, quiet walks or a hike up the hill for an absolutely beautiful view of the cove and aquamarine waters.

In the afternoon snorkelers added some species to the fish and invertebrate list, such as the chocolate chip seastar. The brown pelicans treated us to entertainment all day as they plunged headfirst into the bay after fish. The little immature Heermann's gull was there to pick up any scrap the pelican missed. Sunset occurred as we sat down to a beach barbecue of grilled tuna and spare ribs.
