Linnea, namesake of the father of scientific nomenclature, spins cartwheels on the shore of Isla San Francisco in the setting sun, after a full day of exploration in the Sea of Cortez. Short-finned pilot whales, teddy bear cactus, chocolate chip sea stars, and courting ospreys were some of the discoveries on this winter solstice.
