We sailed through the calm, serene waters of Frederick Sound on the lookout for bears. Today the early birds were rewarded with a glimpse of a brown bear nonchalantly strolling along the beach. Later another bear was sighted but only for a brief moment. Our bear karma seems to be a fleeting one.
We took a break from bear hunting and headed out to open waters in search of humpback whales. We were not disappointed! Soon we were surrounded by humpback whales feeding and ‘logging’ (whale napping).
Right before lunch, another brown bear was spotted looking for his lunch on the beach. We temporarily delayed ours so we could watch him digging for something to eat.
