Española Island
I always love to walk on Española Island, where there are thousands of birds nesting and courting.
Today we had a great experience. We saw blue-footed boobies arriving to the nesting area to start their courtship dances. We ended up in a place where we had a nice cliff facing the open ocean and enjoyed the spout from the blowhole.
In the afternoon, the water invited us to swim and to snorkel. We swam around a rock called “turtle rock” and it was fantastic! We also saw sharks and were lucky enough to see a blue-footed booby diving right in front of us.
I like this particular location because after swimming, we always have the opportunity to stretch out our legs walking along the beach where we can also play with sea lions.
Our guests enjoyed resting right beside the sea lions and seeing how life is so easy for them (from our point of view of course). We left the island behind at sunset time, and from the ship we could see the colorful panorama of a white gorgeous beach crowed with sea lions.
