Cerro Dragon & Sombrero Chino
We disembarked at Cerro Dragon on the north shore of Santa Cruz Island. We were looking for land iguanas. But they were very elusive. The presence of feral animals in the area became obvious when we heard the bleating of a baby goat. Along the path, dusty and hot we finally found a shy male, walking away from us. Nevertheless our visit was full of colors, marine iguanas and pelicans.
We next went to an underwater location called Guy Falkes. The experience still is lingering in our guests’ minds, as a zillion fish were there to greet us. Very curious sea lions finished the morning show.
The afternoon was full of activities. We held our Lindblad Forum, where everyone had something to say about conservation, and ideas were shared. The snorkelers ran to the disembarkation doors, while the kayakers and panga riders did likewise. Finally some other guests spent their relaxing time on the beach where sea lions were waiting to put on yet another show.
The sunset was a reason to stop our pangas and watch. Another day in the Galápagos Islands!
