Bartolomé & San Salvador Islands
For an entire year our carpenter, Cruz Moreno, has dedicated his spare time on board to creating a mini replica of the National Geographic Polaris. Every detail of the big ship can be found in its little sister: The floating Spa, the glass bottom boat, the Zodiacs, the sky deck, the kayaks. Looking at it we are reminded of the many activities we do in a week taking advantage of our different means of transportation and technological tools and the amazing visitor sites of the Galápagos. It is hard to believe that in only 7 days we have had 10 outings on the glass bottom boat, five kayak sessions, snorkelling activities everyday, and sometimes twice a day, and walks both in the morning and afternoon. We have seen it all: boobies nesting and breeding, albatrosses taking off from high cliffs, frigates stealing fish from swallow tailed gulls, sharks and tunas in the middle of a feeding frenzy, and above all, happy faces, guests who have always come back on board with big smiles and fulfilled hearts.
It happened again today, at Bartolomé and San Salvador Islands: new sightings, fabulous views, learning experiences. We’ll depart this archipelago tomorrow, but these islands will never leave us.
