Española Island
Today we woke up at Punta Suarez on the island of Española. It was bit cloudy with some spells of rain. Since this is a photo expedition voyage, some people went out early so they could spend more time out in the field getting the best images possible. The rest had a normal wake up call, had breakfast and went out, some for the whole loop and others just the short walk option. No matter which option they chose, everyone had the chance to see the always-pretty boobies, marine iguanas, and lots of sea lions pups playing likes dogs do.
Once we all returned on board, we distributed the wet suits and snorkeling gear, followed by a typical lunch. In the afternoon people took the various options such as snorkeling, glass bottom boating, kayaking and swimming at Gardner Bay where the sand is like talcum powder.
The water temperature was in the 80s so it was wonderful to be in and see all the wonderful underwater stuff. On the kayaking trip, people had the chance to interact with sea lions, and sight things like lava herons, blue footed boobies, swallow tailed gulls.etc.
It was a wonderful place and we all had a fantastic time like we always do. Just in case you don’t believe me, I am posting some photos to prove it. Wow!
