In the afternoon we shifted from New Island to Westpoint Island, where we were greeted by the Napiers who own the island. We hiked across to the windward side, where a large colony of rockhopper penguins and black- browed albatross were nesting.

While we were observing the bird colonies, a continual parade of rockhopper penguins passed by us en route to their nests from the sea. We sat very quietly for a long time and enjoyed the parade.
