We had a lovely day on Floreana Island. We participated in a historic tradition at Post Office Bay, picking up some postcards to deliver and leaving others behind for future visitors. We explored the sea by kayak, by snorkeling, or on the glass-bottom Zodiac. We spotted an abundant number of various species of fish plus some sea lions and turtles.
In the afternoon, we visited Punta Cormorant, where we observed a breeding colony of American flamingos and maybe half a dozen turtles basking under the warm equatorial sun. It is now mating season for these beautiful reptiles. We found more than twenty turtles in the waters surrounding their nesting areas.
