Today was a special day, and guests on National Geographic Orion were offered a variety of activities on Espiritu Santo. Some of us chose to visit Champagne Beach, a lovely white sand beach with clear blue water. Other guests chose to take a morning excursion to visit a museum dedicated to World War II’s impact on this region of the world. Many guests decided to go swimming in a freshwater blue lagoon, and certified scuba divers were offered the opportunity to visit the SS Coolidge shipwreck. The SS Coolidge was a cruise liner built in 1931 and converted into a troop transporter during World War II.
