The Galapagos Islands are a marvelous place where to spend some time with nature and feel part of it. The National Geographic Endeavour has started its voyage around the archipelago and this day we visited the island of Española.

During the morning we visited a place called Gardner Bay. Here for the first time we had the chance to enjoy water activities. So most decided to go deep water snorkeling to Gardner Islet; this place is a bit off shore and its cliffs make a perfect flat environment for those who snorkeled for their first time ever. The highlight was the baby sea lions, that while they wait for their mothers to come back from fishing with milk, they entertain themselves with the curious tourists that also entertain with them.

Also we visited a big white coralline beach with a colony of sea lions, mockingbirds, oystercatchers and hawks. This was a great place for our younger explorers to relax, have fun and swim.

Later we moved to the opposite site of this Island, to a place called Punta Suarez.

Here is where every birdwatcher dreams to go to. The scenery is a flat place where different species of animals such as, marine iguanas, boobies, albatrosses and more are found. So we took a trail to the inner part of the island where the seabird colonies are found. And what a terrific time we had looking at the baby albatrosses that have just hatch. We found as well some albatross couples that were performing their famous courtship -as they are monogamous birds and need to find their mates using dancing moves- one more time.

The views of the cliffs that face south full of birds that are coming and going were one of the rewards for those who ventured inland far enough.

Española delivered just as we expected it to, and we cannot wait to see what is ahead.
