Today we visited two locations with amazing landscapes in the vicinity of Santiago Island. One was Chinese Hat, a small volcanic island located off the southeast coast of Santiago. The island is named after its distinctive shape, which resembles a traditional Chinese hat. In the afternoon, we walked along Sullivan Bay. The bay’s geology is dominated by its recent volcanic history, which provides important insights into the formation and evolution of the Galapagos Islands.
