On our second full day we visited Su Nuraxi, the Archaeological Museum, and the cathedral in Cagliari, Sardinia. These sites offer a deep dive into the island's rich historical and cultural landscape.
Su Nuraxi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, showcases the remnants of the Nuragic civilization, with its well-preserved tower and village, offering a glimpse into the lives of Sardinia's ancient inhabitants.
The journey continued in Cagliari at the Archaeological Museum, where artifacts spanning millennia are displayed, including intricate jewelry, pottery, and statues that depict the island's evolving story from prehistoric times through the Roman era.
The exploration culminated at Cagliari's majestic cathedral, a stunning example of Sardinian Gothic architecture, adorned with intricate carvings and beautiful frescoes. This sacred space not only provides spiritual solace but also tells the tale of the region's artistic and religious heritage, making the visit a comprehensive and enriching experience of Sardinia's past and present.
Back on board, National Geographic Photographer Susan Seubert shared some brilliant techniques for capturing the “Luxury and Legacy of Sea Cloud," and we ended our day with our pianist, Mario Spadaro, playing beautiful music as we enjoyed an amazing dinner.
