The protected waters of Cabo Pulmo National Park greeted us with a warm reception this morning. In fact, a huge group of machete fish schooled just aft of National Geographic Venture in the early hours of this Valentine’s Day!
We visited three distinct underwater sites to snorkel with hawksbill turtles, moray eels, myriad reef fish, and a school of thousands of big-eyed jacks. Between sites, breeching humpback whales, feisty sea lions, and leaping mobula rays surprised us with their above-water appearances!
A favorite memory of today was seeing couples snorkeling hand in hand over the reef!
