This is our first day in the heart of the magnificent Amazon jungle! We started activities before breakfast, as soon as the rain stopped. This is the rainforest… it rains! Our outing was amazing, with sightings of raptors, iguanas, and the first monkeys! Morning is the best time for viewing wildlife as animals are all active. There are songs heard all over, and courtship rituals occurring on most of the trees. The iguanas are basking in the sun, taking in the first rays of the morning.
In the early afternoon we boarded our fleet of skiffs as the rain stopped. This time we explored the rest of the forest and we had many interesting sightings! From raptors to parrots and flocks of birds all around! Just an amazing day!
