The DER below is from the expedition to Cuba that began on December 28, 2016.

It was a happy new year indeed.  We spent part of the day relaxing along the shore of the Bay of Pigs and snorkeling in its crystal clear blue water.  Birdwatchers got an early start and were rewarded with sightings of the national bird of Cuba, the Cuban trogan, and the world’s smallest bird, the bee hummingbird.  A visit to this area would not be complete without a stop at Museo Girón, where we learned about the Cuban perspective of the Bay of Pigs invasion in 1961.
