Today we spent the day aboard National Geographic Orion at sea, sailing northwest along the southern coast of New Guinea toward Asmat. We experienced calm seas and a light, following breeze, making for comfortable sailing and providing a great opportunity to spend time on the bow watching the birds and enjoying the sunshine. Later in the day, we came across a Bryde’s whale. What a lovely day.
