As we wrap up our journey on National Geographic Orion, we spent the day sharing photos and reminiscing about our great adventures together. We closed out the evening with one final cocktail hour and a delicious Captain’s farewell dinner. Without a doubt, the food this trip has been exquisite. It’s a true balance of science and art to keep the food fresh and dishes exciting on such a long expedition. The long galley is 20m long by 4m wide and hosts 11 galley crew members. Six separate meals, along with afternoon tea and late-night snacks are produced by the fabulous galley team. Impressive. Just for fun, below are the consumption figures for our voyage:

Wow!
Starting in Ushuaia, we traveled to the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, and the Antarctic Peninsula. The Captain, bridge team, and expedition leader did an excellent job navigating the ship over vast amounts of water. Throughout our expedition, we covered 3,689 nautical miles and traveled at an average speed of 10.1 knots.
