Tara Kaestner-Barth

Tara is a Nurse turned Diver who grew up in the rainy forests of Washington State near the Salish Sea. Craving warmer climates she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Hawaii, where she quickly fell in love with snorkeling and then scuba diving. Tara has traveled the world following her passion for the ocean, photography and experiencing new cultures. Most recently she obtained her AAUS Scientific Diver certification at the University of Alaska in Sitka.

Tara now combines her love for the sea, wildlife, travel, and photography while working as an Expedition Diver and Naturalist with Lindblad Expeditions. You will find that she is happiest when spotting whales! When she isn’t onboard the ship, she is busy traveling, working at her local community hospital, adventuring outdoors, or helping care for her young niece and nephew. Her next goal is to obtain her Divemaster certification, and she dreams of diving in Antarctica.
