Lauren Cochenour
Lauren thrives on exploration, international travel and storytelling. Enthralled with
nature since childhood spent both in the Pacific Northwest and coastal Maine,
she holds rocky, wild coastlines and extreme mountainous environments very
dear to her heart. With a degree in Biology, she has spent the past 25 years as a
student of the world, embracing life with grit, grace and an innate curiosity while
exploring the natural wonders of the globe with eyes wide open. She has sailed
oceans and seas, swam with penguins, trekked amongst condors in Patagonia
and helped collect DNA samples from grizzly bears from the remote coastal
islands of British Columbia. When not in the woods foraging for mushrooms or
various edible plants, discovering historical artifacts in mudflats, or hiking and
biking in far off places, you’ll most likely find her reading tales of expeditions long
since past.
Lauren believes protecting and conserving these breathtaking, remote and hard
to reach environments begins with knowledge. Understanding the fragility of
habitats is critical to expanding the desire to preserve and safeguard these
precious ecosystems. She is immensely grateful to have the opportunity to share
these amazing adventures with others while educating and empowering them to
become advocates for preserving what we have now.
